Welcome from the Head

Welcome to our school website. We hope it gives you an insight into life at Christ the King and that you can find all the information you need. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is any further information you require.

Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy is a welcoming and warm environment, centred around the Gospel values, with Jesus’ message at the heart of everything we do.  Our school motto: We can and we will follow in Jesus’ footsteps, is something that all members of our school community embrace and helps to shape Christ the King school into an inclusive, nurturing environment, in which all children are supported to thrive and achieve. Our children are encouraged, through regular encounter with liturgy, Mass and prayer, to develop their faith and their own relationship with God.

Our Christ the King family recognises the dignity of every person as unique and formed in God’s image, ensuring all are valued. We welcome all children from all faiths, backgrounds and cultures. We strive to build positive relationships with our parents, as the first educators of our children, and we work collaboratively to support our children.

Our motto, mission statement and school values are woven through our curriculum in order to ensure that our children learn the knowledge they need, alongside accessing the enrichment and personal development opportunities that will help to shape them to be the best that they can be – loving learning, understanding personal responsibility and equipped with the tools needed to face a challenge.

Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy (CVA) serves the Parishes of Christ the King in Alfreton and St. Patrick and St. Brigid in Clay Cross. Our Parish Priest visits school regularly to celebrate Mass with us and the children will visit our Parish Church at various times throughout the year. Our children support Parish events, following in Jesus’ footsteps through serving others.

Christ the King CVA is part of the St. Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust – a family of 25 schools across our Diocese of Nottingham. More information can be found at St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust – SRSCMAT

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are considering a place for your child and would like to arrange a visit.
